Alice in Chains was a pivotal part of my young adult years. I wanted to make this page first because today -March 9th,2011- Mike Starr, the bassist for Alice in Chains, was found dead in Salt Lake City, Utah. I guess heaven wasn’t satisfied with just Layne Staley.
It’s very sad for me. Over the years many of the artists from the Seattle Grunge Scene have died very early. It is heart wrenching for me. Many died before they had a chance to see their success, like Andy Wood from Mother Love Bone.
I’ve worn out many of their CDs. Heck, I wore Facelift out on the “lost my job so I’ll drive to Cali” trip. It was my music courage that whole trip. It was the caffeine that kept me going even though I was scared to death. It was the music that helped me put my heart on my sleeve and push through fear of rejection.
Alice in Chains Man in the Box, Would and I Stay.
I hope that you enjoy.
