Incubus is one of my all time favorite groups. I adore them and have since about 2001. In the novel you actually travel with me and my girlfriends to Nashville, Charlotte and Lollapalooza to see Incubus. I’ve seen Incubus four times in total, and I own every album including Fungus Amoungus.
Incubus came to me during a time in my life that I was looking for change. I wanted more than my mundane get by every day life. My life wasn’t bad. I just didn’t feel alive inside anymore. It was like something had died inside of me. Incubus helped push me through some tough times of really getting to know myself and what I really wanted in life. What is truly important? What am I connected to as a whole, and who am I as a person? They helped, comforted and walked with me on my journey to becoming a spiritual person.
This is the reason that I have been to so many Incubus concerts. These trips were filled with fun, laughter, sometimes lots of alcohol and a sense of the unknown. These were deathbed moments, you know those moments in time you will actually think about on your deathbed.
I have never been able to meet the band, but I have been in the pit and was lucky enough to be only a few feet from Brandon Boyd (thank you Karen and Mom).
I hope that you enjoy them. Here is Pardon Me, Nice to Know You and Warning (a Capella version). These are some of my favorites by Incubus.
